He was 52.

Derby is what got me through it and what still gets me through it. I can't be sad. I have practice. I don't have time to dwell - I have visiting team gifts to make... or tickets to sell... or press releases to write... or assessments to grade... or shirts to make....

I had a friend post on facebook recently that "Derby sucks and (he's) tired of hearing all of (his) friends obsess over it like it's some kind of drug."

I wanted to go punch him in the dickhole. (Instead Karma did and he broke his ankle while he was hanging out with the friend he chose over the derby bout that night.)

Non-Derbies don't realize how true it is when you say that derby saved your life. I know it did mine.Elizabeth C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01370772536021582163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1184829320114232004.post-9148833333605202752010-12-18T02:36:24.034-08:002010-12-18T02:36:24.034-08:00I was pointed to your blog recently and vividly re...I was pointed to your blog recently and vividly remembered your article in the USARS magazine that many girls in my league still have taped up somewhere at home or the office. This is by far my favorite post of yours. It's difficult to explain to anyone outside of derby how it can be the one thing that keeps you going, that gets you to get out of bed, wash your face, and move along, and how for just a few hours you can forget just about anything and wallow in the love of derby. No matter how hard that makes it to go back to that sad, empty house, things are Always better after.Feline Distempernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1184829320114232004.post-22290145338189673602010-03-28T08:11:31.273-07:002010-03-28T08:11:31.273-07:00You are amazing in every way!
